Participants will learn about the connection of chronic stress, emotional self-awareness, and self-care.
Description
This presentation provides psychoeducation on the detrimental impact of chronic stress and the link between emotional self-awareness, engagement in personal and professional practices, and life satisfaction in mental health professionals. The presentation will give participants an in-depth understanding of the links between these concepts, recent research findings of peer-reviewed studies, and self-report assessment of their own EA, self-care, and quality of life. Participants will be guided in learning how to implement practical hands-on routines and strategies to increase their overall well-being.

Presenters
Dr. Denisa Millette is an Atlanta-based Licensed Psychotherapist and Adjunct Psychology Professor at Yorkville University, Canada. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor. Dr. Millette currently serves as chair of the International Association for Resilience and Trauma Counseling Professional Development Committee of the American Counseling Association. She has been actively engaged in various fields of psychology, including clinical, forensic, counseling, and peak performance psychology, for over 20 years. Her practical experience includes conducting psychological and forensic evaluations and targeted psychotherapy for clients of all ages in treatment centers and private psychological practices in the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Dr. Millette’s research focuses on emotional intelligence, self-care practices, and peak performance. Dr. Millette is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Counseling Association, and Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology.
