Description
The Lindner Center of HOPE WMS series is designed to address educational gaps regarding strategies to stabilize and improve lingering challenges of chronic/sub-acute mental illness and substance use using evidence-based practices in psychiatry, new and evolving treatment modalities, and patient safety trends. These gaps are identified by requests from Lindner Center of HOPE providers, previous attendees via evaluation surveys and the WMS Planning Committee. In addition, Planning Committee and LCOH provider perception of need, new information and safety data, research and societal trends guide selection of topics for this series.
This series offers participants the opportunity to:
- 1. Identify trends in substance use among individuals with psychosis and discuss the long-term impact of
substance use on mental health. - 2. Address knowledge gaps in evidence-based practices for treating patients with mental health and
substance use disorders (co-occurring disorders). - 3. Discuss evolving safety trends and protocols, such as risk mitigation strategies for suicide prevention
and medication safety. - 4. Explore new adaptations in psychotherapeutic approaches for substance-induced psychosis.
