The course consists of 6 modules, totaling 12.5 credit hours. In addition to the modules, there is homework and consultation time that accounts for the 8.5 credit hours. Together, these components make up the full course offering of 21 credit hours.

Description

The advanced topics of this course are designed to equip participants passionate about supporting clients and their families. Participants will expand their skills and deepen their understanding of the complexities of recovery. We’ll explore Co-Occurring Disorders and how to effectively address the challenges of behavioral health and substance use disorders. You’ll learn about Medication Assisted Treatment, a vital tool in helping clients find stability and support. Plus, we’ll introduce you to Motivational Interviewing to empower individuals to find their own reasons for change. Understanding the Stages of Change will be another key focus. Recovery is not a straight line, and recognizing where someone is in their journey can make all the difference. We’ll also discuss Cultural Awareness, ensuring we respect all unique backgrounds and experiences. Finally, learn effective relapse prevention tools, and help clients build a solid foundation for lasting recovery.
