Educational Goal

Description

Major depressive disorder is among the most common and impactful mental health conditions encountered in clinical practice, yet many individuals remain untreated or undertreated. This activity reviews evidence-based approaches to the treatment of depressive disorders, including psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, measurement-based care, and long-term management strategies. Participants will examine landmark clinical trials that have shaped modern treatment practices, explore practical frameworks for selecting and adjusting interventions based on individual patient characteristics, and discuss strategies for optimizing outcomes through reassessment, augmentation, and relapse prevention. The session emphasizes patient-centered, evidence-informed clinical decision-making across the continuum of depression care.
