Educational Goal
Description
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a skills-based approach that is widely utilized to treat a variety of mental health concerns. DBT encompasses skills in four main categories: core mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. For clinicians to be effective at infusing DBT skills into their clinical practice, it is important for clinicians to first learn the skills of DBT and how to teach them to clients. In part one of this series, participants will briefly review the theoretical components of DBT, learn skills within the core mindfulness category, and understand how to implement the skills with clients.
