Description

Cultural humility in substance use disorder treatment is essential for providing effective and respectful care. It involves acknowledging and respecting the unique cultural backgrounds and experiences of clients, recognizing the limitations of one’s own cultural knowledge, and actively seeking to understand and incorporate diverse perspectives. By practicing cultural humility, treatment providers can build trust, enhance communication, and tailor interventions to address the specific needs and values of each individual, ultimately improving treatment outcomes and promoting recovery.
