This interactive training will help behavioral health professionals effectively support clients through crisis while promoting client empowerment, resilience, and long term recovery.  The course reviews evidenced based crisis management models, trauma informed care principles, de-escalation strategies, and interdisciplinary approaches that help clinicians maintain therapeutic effectiveness while fostering client ownership to reduce clinician and caregiver burnout.  Attendees will gain practical tools for crisis prevention, intervention, and recovery planning focusing on client well being and professional sustainability.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify and assess the stages, types, and client perceptions of crisis including factors that contribute to escalation and opportunities for intervention.

  • Apply trauma informed and evidenced-based crisis management models to support client stabilization, de-escalation, empowerment, and crisis recovery planning.

  • Implement at least two strategies that promote client ownership and resilience while utilizing professional practices that reduce clinician and caregiver burnout and enhance therapeutic effectiveness during crisis situations.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this training aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of behavioral health professionals in recognizing, assessing, and responding to client crises through trauma-informed, client-centered approaches. Participants will learn practical strategies to empower clients, improve crisis outcomes, and maintain professional sustainability by navigating the challenges of clinical burnout and emotional exhaustion.

Presenters

Tiffany Young, MHA LPC-S, LCCA
Dr. Tiffany Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas and a Telehealth Licensed Therapist in Florida. She is credentialed as a Licensed Child Care Administrator in Texas. She holds a Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a second Master's in Health Administration, with a concentration in Leadership from Capella University. Tiffany has been in the behavioral health field for over 20 years, with the last 10 in inpatient acute psychiatric care, serving populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric.

Tiffany is a highly motivated and passionate Healthcare Executive with a proven track record of achieving key performance indicators. She is adept at identifying opportunities for improvement, developing innovative solutions, and implementing effective strategies to optimize healthcare operations and enhance patient and staff safety and outcomes.

Tiffany’s passion for educating, training, and development extends beyond the four walls of any facility. She is actively involved in community initiatives and advocacy programs that focus on improving access to quality care for all and serves as a professor of counseling at The University of the Cumberlands.

Tiffany is a dedicated member of the American Counseling Association, Texas Counseling Association, and American College of Healthcare Executives.
