Description
Traditional safety planning is often insufficient in addressing suicidality, particularly in folks who are chronically suicidal, have increasing suicidality, aren’t sure they can keep themselves safe, and/or hold marginalized identities. This presentation will explore how to go deeper into safety planning in order to keep people safe while maintaining their autonomy. We will discuss the ethical complexities of sending someone to the hospital for suicidality and how to increase safety in the hospital setting.
