Description
This webinar explores how proposed changes to DSM-5 eating disorder diagnostic definitions could drive meaningful progress in the fight for better care. We will examine how broader, more inclusive criteria can improve identification of eating disorders across ages, genders, body sizes, and cultural backgrounds, helping to reduce misdiagnosis and delayed treatment. Participants will learn what the proposed DSM-5 changes are, and how these definition changes may expand access to evidence-based treatment, insurance coverage, and early intervention services. By understanding the implications of evolving diagnostic frameworks, advocates, clinicians, and policymakers can work together to advance equitable, effective treatment options for all individuals affected by eating disorders.
