|

Date & Time

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate short-tern and long-term physical and mental effects of cannabis and psychedelic use, based on scientific evidence.

  • Analyze how legal status intersects with risks of abuse, including cannabis use disorder (CUD) and other adverse outcomes.

  • Evaluate current treatment approaches and research on interventions for problematic cannabis and psychedelic experiences.

Educational Goal

This presentation explores what the latest evidence reveals about their short- and long-term physical and mental effects, including cognitive and cardiovascular impacts from cannabis and psychological sequelae related to psychedelics. We'll discuss how legalization can coicide with increases in use and disorder, challenging the assumption that legality equals safety, and consider the implications for public health, diagnosis, and treatment.
