|

Information

Date & Time

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least three key clinical indicators to determine whether ARFID symptoms require eating disorder-focused, anxiety-focused, or integrated interventions.

  • Compare at least two evidence-based treatment modalities utilized in addressing the heterogeneous presentations of ARFID.

  • Formulate an individualized treatment plan integrating anxiety and eating disorder protocols for patients with complex ARFID presentations.

Educational Goal

The educational goal of this workshop is to enable attendees to conceptualize ARFID presentations and apply evidence-based eating disorder and anxiety interventions, both separately and in an integrated manner, to support individualized and effective treatment planning.

Description

This presentation will equip attendees with the knowledge and clinical tools necessary to effectively treat individuals with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). The session will review evidence-based treatment approaches and provide guidance on determining whether symptoms are best addressed through eating disorder recovery interventions, anxiety-focused therapies, or a coordinated combination of both. Attendees will develop greater confidence in case formulation, intervention selection, and treatment planning, allowing them to provide more individualized and effective care for patients with complex ARFID presentations.
