A collaborative effort between Robinson Casey and Rossen Law Firm, alongside Family First Adolescent Services and The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center, specializing in behavioral health care for adolescents and adults with mental health or substance use disorders. The focus is on creating a unified partnership that bridges the gap between legal and clinical services, ensuring effective outcomes for individuals struggling with mental health and substance abuse. Attendees will learn how to navigate the intersection of the criminal justice system and mental health care, gain insights into the Marchman Act process, and understand the importance of collaboration between attorneys and clinicians to provide the best support for clients.

Presenters

Craig Robinson, Esq., MSW

 Craig Robinson is a partner at Robinson and Casey, PLLC, a law firm dedicated to helping families with loved ones suffering from substance abuse and mental health concerns access treatment. He has been admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 2008 and Florida since 2020. He also maintains licenses in the US District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the Southern District of Florida.

Craig began his career as a civil trial attorney, and he has represented clients in courtrooms throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey and tried more than 50 jury trials. In 2018, he was admitted to a treatment center for his own addiction, and while there, decided to build a new life in Florida. In 2019, Craig was so moved by his personal experience in treatment that he enrolled in a Master’s Program for Social Work and graduated with an MSW degree in 2022. Craig has a passion for helping those with addiction and mental health conditions to access recovery.

In addition to his MSW degree, Craig holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain and Information Systems from Penn State University and a Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University. Craig has been on multiple boards of directors for not-for-profit agencies, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Currently, Craig is on the board of the Crossroads Club in Delray Beach, Florida, a not-for-profit that provides a safe haven and 12-Step meetings for those who have been adversely affected by addictive substances.  

Craig looks forward to serving families in accessing recovery for their loved ones.

Adam Rossen, Esq.

Adam Rossen, Esq. has worked as a skilled criminal defense attorney for over 15 years and is currently the owner and CEO of Rossen Law Firm, the biggest criminal defense firm in Broward County with a core mission of “helping good people when bad things happen.” Adam has been named one of the “Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers in Florida” by The National Trial Lawyers and is a recognized speaker on mental health and law, emphasizing the crucial intersection of mental health treatment and legal advocacy. His innovative approach has made him a sought-after expert in this specialized field.

 

Adam’s unique perspective comes from combining legal expertise with a deep understanding of human behavior, supported by his dual degrees in Criminology and Psychology from the University of Florida. After graduating from the University of Miami School of Law in 2006, Adam began his legal career as a prosecutor at the Broward County State Attorney’s Office. Handling cases ranging from DUIs to violent crimes, this experience opened his eyes to the critical need for better mental health advocacy in our justice system. Both his educational background and experience has proven invaluable in developing comprehensive support systems for clients navigating both mental health and legal challenges.

 

Beyond his legal practice, Adam serves as a board member of In Jacob’s Shoes and actively contributes to various legal community initiatives. Additionally, he is a devoted husband to his wife, Kyley, and a dedicated father to his two boys, Chase and Luke. These personal roles have deepened his understanding of the human impact of legal challenges, driving his passion for providing comprehensive support to clients navigating the complex intersection of mental health and criminal justice.
