Description

Measurement-Based Care is the bridge between clinical intuition and proven outcomes. By integrating objective patient data into routine practice, clinicians can do more than just track progress—they can actively prevent treatment failure and deepen the therapeutic bond. This session explores the dual power of MBC: as a clinical tool for guiding real-time decision-making and as an organizational engine for quality assurance. We will dive into the theoretical and practical applications of MBC, offering a roadmap for clinicians to leverage data to enhance patient insight, ensure treatment fidelity, and communicate the undeniable story of recovery at every level of care.

Presenters

Antoinette Giedzinska received her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California, where her training emphasized behavioral medicine, patient quality of life research, and neuropsychology. She has authored several scientific publications addressing psychological correlates of cancer quality of life, program development, and patient treatment decision-making, in addition to authoring the Clinician’s Handbook on Measurement-Based Care, recently published by the American Psychiatric Association. As a scientist/practitioner and applied psychologist, Dr. Giedzinska’s career has comprised several achievements across the spectrum of the behavioral healthcare industry. With respect to direct-patient care, she has developed psycho-educational curricula to promote patient insight and growth; developed and implemented bioneurofeedback and applied neuroscience programs; and established comprehensive psychological profiling as part of standard care. Under her leadership, Dr. Giedzinska has also conceived, designed, and implemented effective systems of measurement-based care and outcomes initiatives for several industry leaders in addition to serving in an advisory capacity on these processes for several application start-ups. Dr. Giedzinska is a strong advocate for those in the behavioral health care industry to incorporate and integrate measurement-based care and outcomes initiatives to evaluate patient progress throughout the treatment trajectory through ethical practice and robust methodology. Proper integration of measurement-based care into the therapeutic process serves to strengthen patient understanding of their mental health progress, deepen therapeutic alliances, promotes greater patient compliance, and advances the behavioral health care industry to meet higher standards in quality care and best practices.
