Jeff Kashou, LMFT, brings over 14 years of experience working as a clinician to Compass Therapy and is also Senior Clinical Product Lead at Upheal. With a strong background in mental health and a passion for advocacy, Jeff has dedicated his career to supporting individuals, couples, and families across all ages. He has served on the board of directors for CAMFT, actively championing the needs of therapists and accessible mental healthcare. Jeff's experience is extensive. Having worked in outpatient, residential, IOP, and incarcerated settings, he understands diverse mental health challenges and the needs of various populations. Previously, he led large multidisciplinary mental health teams for the County of Orange and most recently serves on the product team at Upheal, an AI scribe for therapists. Jeff's approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered. He tailors interventions to align with a client's unique goals and preferred style, emphasizing the development of skills that can be used in other areas of life for lasting impact. He utilizes mindfulness practices, CBT, DBT, family systems therapy, solution-focused therapy, and gestalt therapy to address a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family issues, grief and loss, life transitions, and substance use. Jeff prioritizes creating a safe and supportive space where clients can feel understood and empowered to navigate life's challenges. Beyond his clinical experience, Jeff is passionate about fostering emotional well-being in diverse communities. He is the published author of a children's book that promotes pride and resilience in families of color facing discrimination. He also engages in volunteer work both locally and abroad.
