Description
Transitions can be difficult for clients working towards eating disorder recovery. The back-to-school transition is often one of the harder ones - leaving the freedom of summer and shifting back into busy schedules. This presentation aims to arm participants with practical strategies to support clients as they navigate this transition. We will touch on triggers and provide solution-focused tools to keep clients recovery-oriented and motivated.

Apart from her clinical work, Keesha has authored numerous publications on eating disorder recovery and regularly speaks at national conferences. She holds certifications as a Daring Way Facilitator and in specialized therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), enhancing her ability to deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based care. Under Keesha’s leadership, Alsana is poised to excel in providing outstanding care, fostering a nurturing environment for professionals, and shaping the future of the eating disorder treatment industry.
Mary Elizabeth received her bachelor’s degree in Collaborative Special Education from Auburn University. She received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and a Certificate of marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
