Presenters

Rachel Beam, MA, LPC is the owner and psychotherapist at Understanding You, located in Fox Point. She is committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. With experience working across diverse populations, Rachel specializes in supporting clients through concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and trauma. Rachel takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), and accelerated resolution therapy (ART). She believes that meaningful change happens within a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. In her work, Rachel strives to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns, while developing practical tools to create lasting change, allowing clients to live more authentically. She is particularly passionate about fostering self-awareness, strengthening emotional regulation, and helping clients build lives aligned with their values. Rachel holds a Master of Arts in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology from Marquette University and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin.
