In this interactive workshop, mental health professionals will discuss the importance of public policy advocacy by considering issues impacting their populations served and learn three practical ways to get involved in public policy advocacy with and/or on behalf of their clients.

Born and raised in the Mississippi Delta, Monica L. Coleman has spent more than a decade as an entrepreneur focused on helping people and organizations that are ridding the world of inequities. Her current aim is on empowering individuals and organizations to recognize and reduce mental health symptoms that get in the way of their vision and/or mission through counseling and consulting. Monica is a licensed counselor in the state of Mississippi and holds several state and national certifications. She is also an emerging leader in counselor education and supervision, program evaluation and public policy advocacy.
