Description
This course integrates the prevailing clinical need for treating co-occurring mental health conditions with our program’s core philosophy. It directly addresses the gap between a primary addiction treatment focus and the complexity of modern residential clients.

Participants will be able to:

Differentiate between SUD symptoms and common co-occurring mental health disorders (i.e., anxiety, personality disorders) in a residential setting.

Describe and apply specific Medication Management guidelines and their interaction with recovery motivation.

Develop techniques for utilizing 12-Step concepts (e.g., surrender, honesty, spiritual awakening) to support clients engaging in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills.
